The former Governor of the Eastern Bar Forum, Williams Soseipiriye Esq., has commended his colleagues for their massive participation in the recently concluded NBA Voters Verification Exercise.
The exercise, which is a crucial part of the electoral process for the 2024 NBA elections, took place from Tuesday, May 28, 2024, to Friday, June 7, 2024.
In a statement released on Monday, Soseipiriye expressed his satisfaction with the turnout of lawyers who participated in the verification exercise. He emphasized the importance of the exercise in ensuring the integrity of the upcoming NBA elections, scheduled for July 20, 2024.
Soseipiriye also took the opportunity to commend the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) for conducting a seamless verification exercise. He urged the Electoral Umpire to maintain the same level of professionalism and transparency in the forthcoming elections to ensure a free and fair process.
With the campaign season approaching, the former EBF Governor advised his colleagues to be vigilant and assess candidates based on their manifestos, track records, and not on sentiments or primordial issues. He stressed the importance of electing leaders who have the capacity to move the NBA forward and champion the cause of the legal profession in Nigeria.
