ARMY COLOUR PAINTING PROHIBITION FOR CARS IN NIGERIA.

In Nigeria, it is unlawful for any person to drive or own any motor vehicle painted in the color known colloquially as ‘army green’.

PENALTY
-Fine of N200 or
-Imprisonment not exceeding six months or to both.

In addition, such vehicle shall be seized until the owner undertakes to re-paint the vehicle to a colour other than Army green colour.

This Act was promulgated on the 4th day of April 1977 during the regime of Major General Olusegun Obasanjo.
