ADC National Chairman, Ralphs Okey Nwosu has reflected on the struggle so far with critical focus on Edo State.
The Chairman made this reflection on Saturday while Congratulating the ADC flagbearers “We commend the efforts of Edo youth and Women United for believing in ADC. We must reclaim Edo for the people of Edo. And the journey for a super power Nigeria in 20 years is possible begins in Edo State this year. Congratulations to Dr. Akhigbe and Princess Mabel Oboh who Edo people today endorsed as ADC flag bearers”

Chairman’s Opening Remarks on the Inaugural meeting of National Strategy Committee Edo
All protocols observed.
I salute you my dear colleagues and ADC party chieftains. We face very uncertain times, although this time it is global but Nigeria appears most vulnerable as we appear ruderless. It is a great pity but let us not allow that to overshadow us this time.
I hope you are keeping safe and thoughtful as leaders at this very challenging time. I pray Almighty God keeps us all, our families and entire ADC family in His care.
May I formally inaugurate our committee and pray God to guide us.
I would not want to want to exhaust much energy discussing the decadence in Edo politics in this republic that started since 1999. But in summary Edo politics has taken an incredible turn, the result is that the State looks amorphous in character, politics, systems, style, values and Governance. Some of you may have forgotten that I raised Comrade Oshomole’s hand when he first declared to run for governor in 2006 under the Labor party. ADC supported him, and gave the confidence to stand strong when I awarded him the victory trophy. The opportunism began early to manifest when he dumped Labor party and began this unholy alliance. Today the Labor leader is richer than Edo state. Edo youth, women and workers have become impoverished and scattered all over the world.
Going from PDP to APC for Edo state is like going from fire to frying pan. And now, one can no longer make any distinction between PDP and APC membership, they drift where the wind blows.
Certainly that is not the way ADC wants to fly in the state, ours is a transformational journey.
You will agree with me ADC became truly the people’s party in Edo after HE Baba OBJ accorded us the seal of approval as the most forward looking party in Nigeria and went on air to endorse the ADC and present us to Nigeria as a party to be trusted. We must continue to keep our moral compass and integrity quotient tops at all time.
For the Governorship election and all other future elections we need to have in place party leaders that are courageous, public spirited, empathetic, focused and incorruptible with knowledge of history and systems. Our many supporters and various other well meaning stake holders in the state are yearning for change and they need leaders who can stand tall not jobbers and opportunists.
ADC can establish itself as the number one party in Edo state once the leadership is effective and forthright.
In conclusion, I must say, the people of Edo state don’t deserve the corrupt leaders they have since 1999. This is the state of Papa Enahoro who in his twenties then moved for Nigeria independence.
The Radical Transparency policy in the ADC DNA and our Arise and Shine Mantra suit the hearts and yearning of Edo people.
The SWOT analysis is in ADC’s favor but certainly we have work to do in the leadership, intelligence gathering and global outreach to ensure election and process integrity. I am glad to inform you that ADC global Diaspora Network are in place to ensure our country is saved. The global body has nominated 2members to join this committee. ADC DN are fully committed to set the Nigeria transformation processes on the right trajectory. My other colleagues will bring their wealth of experiences into this Edo strategy to make victory assured.
To God the glory. I welcome all of us and I am trusting that our committed efforts will leverage our dear party ADC in Edo state.
Sincerely.
Ralphs Okey Nwosu
National Chairman ADC 15th April 2020.
