Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has generously gifted each of the 3,121 pilgrims from Kano State with 100 Saudi Riyals as a Sallah present.

This gesture was announced by the Deputy Governor and State Amirul Hajj, Aminu Gwarzo, during his visit to the Kano Pilgrims’ Camp at Mina in Saudi Arabia. Ibrahim Shuaibu, spokesperson for the Deputy Governor, confirmed this in a statement released to the press in Kano. Additionally, each pilgrim had previously received N500,000 towards their Hajj 2024 fare and an extra N150,000 for their personal expenses, totaling 500 US dollars.

Furthermore, Alhaji Mijinyawa, CEO of Sahad Stores, also contributed by gifting 50 Saudi Riyals to each Kano pilgrim.

The Deputy Governor encouraged pilgrims to pray sincerely for themselves, their families, and for the progress and development of Kano State and Nigeria.
During his visit, he also toured all the tents of the 44 local government areas in Mina, accompanied by dignitaries including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, members of the State House of Assembly, the Head of Service, Chairman and Director General of the Pilgrims Board, and the Deputy Commandant General of Hisbah Board, Women Wing, Dr. Khadija Sulaiman, among others.
