The Hon. President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, PhD, FNIALS has charged the staff of the court to be more dutiful to their duties.

Justice Kanyip made the remark today Monday 20th September 2021 during his official visit to the Benin judicial division of the court in Edo State, Nigeria.

His lordship while interacting with the staff, explained the financial status of the court that this year’s budget suffered 50 per cent reduction and it has not been easy to manage the court to his taste, solicited for more understanding and cooperation from the staff and also assures them that their welfare will continue to be of utmost priority.

He charged them to be more resilient with the assurance that by the special grace of God the coming year will be better; that his administration will never deny staff of what belongs to them.

Justice Kanyip said it has not been easy managing a federal institution like Industrial Court to be running on half-budget that many things need to be done but due to the paucity of funds, he was constrained and been put in a tight corner; implored the staff not to involve in any activity that can bring dis-honour to their oath of office.

Also in his remark, the Chief Registrar, Mr Olurotimi Daudu expressed appreciation to the staff for their cooperation, urged them to be more understanding that they will hear more at the forthcoming general assembly scheduled for 30th September 2021.

In the same vein, the presiding and administrative judge of the Benin division, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Adunola Adewemimo expressed appreciation to the Hon. President for the official visit prayed God to grant his lordship and entourage safe journey back to their destinations.
