Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has boldly declared that he is unaffected by any criticism, insisting that he is “dead and blind” to his detractors. He made these remarks during the flag-off ceremony for the design, construction, and furnishing of the Body of Benchers of Nigeria office annex in Abuja on Friday.
Wike emphasized that, as a seasoned politician, he has developed a “thick skin” and remains undistracted by negative comments. He explained that politicians must possess three key traits: being unable to see, hear, or speak in response to external attacks.
“I don’t even hear what people say. I don’t even see those who are saying it, and I can’t reply,” he stated, reaffirming his dedication to his duties. “The good thing about us is that we must have thick skin. As a politician, you can’t be distracted by what people say.”
Wike’s unwavering focus is on his work for the nation, as he stressed that his responsibility is to serve the country to the best of his ability. “I will go ahead and continue to do my work for the best of the country,” he concluded.
