A mother of three and wife of kidnapped Anambra businessman, Mr Tochukwu Ezemma, also known as Big Ben, has appealed to the governor of the state, Prof Charles Soludo, for help.
Mrs Benedict Ezemma, in a post on Facebook, said that since November 12, when her husband was abducted by unknown persons while leaving his hotel for a meeting, he has not been found.
In her post, Mrs Ezemma said she has been working with security agencies in the state to track down her husband’s kidnappers but feels disappointed that they have told her the kidnappers cannot be arrested because they are billionaires, and that billionaires cannot be arrested ‘anyhow.’
In a message titled “Where is my husband?” Mrs Ezemma wrote: “Security has concluded investigations and they know the people my husband went to meet with, but to date, no action has been taken regarding the outcome of the investigations.
“The State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo (the Chief Security Officer), and his inner cabinet know this — the whereabouts of Big Ben, the people he had a meeting with on that fateful day, and what happened to him, but they have remained silent, saying the so-called people he went to meet are high-profile and dangerous individuals.
“Are there people who are bigger than the law and the government in our state now?”
She said these two months of her husband’s absence have been hellish for her family, begging that for the sake of her one-year-old child, who does not even know her father, and her two other young children, the governor should intervene in the matter.
She said: “I can no longer remain silent. It’s been over two months of extreme torture for me, my children, and the entire family. I ask again, Where is my husband and the father of my three innocent children? What exactly is the problem with these high-profile people? What, in the name of God, is this problem that cannot be discussed?
“Now they say the case is in court, and that the family should get a lawyer to follow up, but we need to know, Who is the case against? What are the charges?”
She described her husband as someone who cannot be dismissed as an unknown figure in the state, stating that he is a serial investor in real estate and the fashion industry, and has been a known philanthropist who has helped many youths.
