Daily Law Tips (Tip 499) by Onyekachi Umah, Esq., LLM. ACIArb(UK)

WHY YOU CANNOT IMPORT BEES AND BEE-KEEPING EQUIPMENTS INTO NIGERIA.

Like other restricted items, plants and animals, importation of bees into Nigeria is restricted.

No person in Nigeria is allowed to import Bees or any agricultural material for use in connection with bees or bee-keeping, unless that person is the holder of a permit from the Minister of Agriculture.

My authorities are sections 1 and 8 of the Bees (Import Control and Management) Act, 1970.
