Managing Partner of S. P. A. Ajibade & Co, Dr Babatunde Ajibade, SAN, FCIArb, has reiterated the passion of the firm towards improving the standard of legal practice in the country.
In his welcome address at the 12th edition of the Annual Business Luncheon of the firm, the Learned Silk emphasized that the desire of the firm to contribute positively towards building a vibrant legal profession with competent skill and reputation informed their decision to organize the annual event as their Corporate Social Responsibility.
“Members of the firm are passionate about the legal profession and hope to see it regain its pride of place as a noble profession and tool for social re-engineering.
Over the years, we have focused on various aspects of the legal profession which are topical, give course for concerns and require discussion” he said.
In his presentation, the lead speaker at the event, Mr. Supo Sashore who spoke on the theme ‘Forum for the resolution of civil disputes; the courts v.the enforcement agencies’ emphasized that promoting the rule of law in society will ensure there is no conflict as to the proper forum for resolution of civil disputes as citizens will have more confidence to approach the court rather than employing strong hand tactics of security agencies to resolve civil disputes.
The luncheon which was chaired by Honourable Justice Amina Augie JSC, was well attended by several legal luminaries including former NBA Presidents, Austin Alegeh, SAN, Mrs Funke Adekoya, SAN, Professor Gbolahan Elias, SAN, among others.
