Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Wednesday rebuked the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje over his vow that the party will take over the South-West.

Makinde said Ganduje was distracted when he said Oyo and Osun states were the next for APC.

APC had won Ondo State with Lucky Aiyedatiwa retaining his seat as governor.
Speaking after Aiyedatiwa’s victory, Ganduje said APC would win all the states in the South-West, stressing that Osun and Oyo States are next.

However, Makinde said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the people of Oyo and Osun are waiting to reject the APC.

Makinde spoke during the commissioning of the Stadium Roundabout/Oke Baale Roundabout/Ilesa Garage Roundabout dual carriageway in Osogbo, Osun State.

“The people of Osun state must come first, and they have been put first. Two years ago, (2022) they made a political choice. They moved from one political party to the PDP.

“Then someone, I believe, got a bit distracted after the Edo and Ondo elections and said they are coming for Osun and Oyo. People, are you not waiting for them? You will show them.”
