The University of Nigeria 1989 Law Class (UNEC89 Law Class) is set to hold its Annual Convention in Lagos. The convention, tagged “Eko2024,” will take place from Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 to Sunday, August 25th, 2024 at the Vintano Hotel in Lekki, Lagos.

The UNEC89 Law Class Convention is a yearly gathering of the members of the 1989 Law Class of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, along with their families. The convention began in 2009 in Asaba, Delta State and has been held in various locations across Nigeria and overseas, including Abuja, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Lagos, Dubai, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. The previous convention was held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Lagos Chapter of the UNEC89 Law Class, in collaboration with the National Body, is enthusiastic about hosting this year’s convention in the vibrant city of Lagos. The event will feature an Annual General Meeting (AGM), visits to iconic tourist attractions in Lagos, sports activities, visits to motherless babies homes, a dinner, pep talk, and a thanksgiving mass.

The UNEC89 Law Class boasts an impressive lineup of distinguished alumni, including a Justice of the Court of Appeal, several High Court Judges, Senior Magistrates, Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANS), prominent lawyers practicing within Nigeria and abroad, professors and lecturers of law, and successful business tycoons.

The theme for this year’s convention is “soaring to greater heights.” Renowned lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), is expected to be the guest speaker at the superlative dinner on Saturday, August 24th, 2024. The convention will conclude with a thanksgiving mass at the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy in Lekki, Lagos on Sunday, August 25th, 2024.

Chief Ike Onwuchuluba, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman, extended a warm invitation to all members of the UNEC89 Law Class and their families to join in the celebration of their annual convention in Lagos.

ANNUAL CONVENTION OF UNEC89 LAW CLASS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA ENUGU CAMPUS HOLDING AT LAGOS

The Local Organizing Committee of the University of Nigeria 1989 Law Class (UNEC89 Law Class), for UNEC89 Law Class Convention 2024, announces that the Class shall hold its Annual Convention tagged “Eko2024” from Thursday, 22nd August, 2024 to Sunday, 25th August, 2024 at Lekki, Lagos at the Vintano Hotel at No. 5, Kayode Animashaun Street, Lekki, Phase 1, Residential Scheme, Lagos.

The event is a family centered annual get together of the members of the great 1989 Law Class of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus with their families.

The Maiden edition started at Asaba, Delta State in 2009. The Convention has since then taken a life of its own and held across different cities across Nigeria and outside the shores of this country including Abuja, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Lagos, Dubai, United Kingdom and the United States of America. The Annual Convention was last held at Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The members of the Lagos Chapter are therefore, in the circumstances, enthused to host the annual convention, in collaboration with the National Body, in the City of Lagos.

The program of events includes the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Class, visits to iconic tourist recreational facilities in Lagos, sports activities, visits to various motherless babies homes by the spouses and children of the class mates, Dinner, pep talk and will be rounded up with a thanksgiving mass by the classmates, their spouses and children.

The UNEC89 Law Class is richly blessed with an array of distinguished mates including a Justice of the Court of Appeal, several High Court Judges, Senior Magistrates, Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANS), Prominent Lawyers, practicing within Nigeria and in the diaspora, Professors and Lecturers of Law within Nigeria and in the diaspora and several Business tycoons.
