With sadness in my heart and tears in my eyes, I write this tribute to our departed learned colleague and friend, Late Barr. Mrs. Uduakobong Akaninyene Akaninyene as she journeys back home to be with her Creator today, the 6th day of August, 2021.

Although I was not privileged to know her for long, I have been assured by my colleagues and friends who knew her back in the university and during her days in legal practice that she was an exemplary star.. It is on account of the good testimonies I have heard about her that I have cancelled every other engagement I had today to attend the Valedictory Court Session of our departed colleague and friend at the Judiciary Multiple purpose Hall, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

I join others to extol the virtues of hard work, dedication and uprightness for which our departed learned colleague and friend was well known for while on planet earth.

Certainly, death is inevitable as it is the fate of all human beings. It is devastating when death snatches a young person at her prime who barely had time to reap the fruit of her labour. It is even more devastating seeing our departed learned colleague, Late Barr. Mrs. Uduakobong Akaninyene Akaninyene being laid to rest at just 29 years of age.

My prayers are with the family that the deceased left behind. May the good Lord comfort them at this time of grief and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

The members of Young Lawyers Forum, Uyo Branch and the entire members of NBA Uyo Branch will miss her greatly.

With a heavy heart but with total submission to the will of God, I bid our departed learned colleague and friend goodbye till we meet to part no more.
