Former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba has said that technology will change the face of the 2023 general election, but expressed confidence that the APC will emerge victorious.
Ndoma Egba who spoke when members of the APC National Integrity Movement (ANIM) visited him in Abuja, warned that the 2023 will be quite different from previous elections as technology will play key roles while people have become very aware and they are going to be making very informed choices.
“The EndSARs movement, before it was hijacked opened our eyes to new possibilities in social mobilization.
Right now, some people are deploying that, which means that we should have an answer to that mobilization.
The advantage we have is that we already have an established structure right down to every polling unit in Nigeria. So, we have the structure to answer to every development whether the development is in our favour or not, we have the structure to answer that.
“The attitude we should take to the next election should be the one of volunteerism. We must encourage the concept of volunteers in APC and I think this movement is a movement of volunteers,” he said. National Coordinator of the Movement, Abubakar Sadiq Saadu Fakai said the movement will work to ensure that the technology being deployed works in favour of the APC.
“We are going to respond to those challenges in a way that will benefit the APC because we have the track record. We have the history, the outreach, we are embedded in virtually every electoral unit of this country,” he said.
