The Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC) has announced that the Abuja-Kaduna and Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail services has resumed operations on Saturday, following the suspension of strike by railway workers.
DAILY POST recalls that railway workers, on Thursday embarked on a three-day warning strike over staff welfare issues, leaving passengers stranded.
The strike paralysed all rail transportation operations across the country.
The Managing Director of Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC), Mr Fidet Okhiria, confirmed that operations resumed today in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“The NRC management and the union had directed workers to resume work with immediate effect in a joint communique suspending the strike on Friday night,” he said.
