SLAUGHTER OF ANIMAL FOR CONSUMPTION AND THE OFFENCE OF ANIMAL CRUELTY
In Nigeria, it is an offence to torture, annoy, beat, kick or terrify any animal.
However, persons preparing animals as food for the purpose of human consumption or persons hunting are exempted from liability under this provision.
PENALTY
Imprisonment for 6 months or fine it N50.
