The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Honourable Justice John T. Tsoho has announced its intention to commence consideration of candidates for appointment as judges of the Federal High Court.
Tsoho made the announcement in a Notice titled APPOINTMENT OF SIX (6) ADDITIONAL JUDGES FOR THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT BENCH noting that recommendations must not be later than 18th December, 2020.
The Notice addressed to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Presidents of the Court of Appeal and National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Attorney-General of the Federation, President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chief Judges of the 36 states of the Federation including FCT, Presidents of the Customary Courts of Appeal of states and FCT and Grand Khadis of various States, urged them to recommend qualified persons.
The Notice reads in part “I write to inform Your Lordships, the Honourable Attorney-General and Minister of Justice and President of the Nigerian Bar Association that the consideration of candidates for possible appointment as judges of the Federal High Court will soon commence.
“I, therefore, invite Your Lordships, the Honourable Attorney-General and Minister of Justice and President of the Nigerian Bar Association to kindly nominate suitably qualified persons for appointment to the Federal High Court Bench.
“Your recommendations should reach my Chambers, latest by the 18th December, 2020,” the notice reads.
