Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday presented the 2022 Lagos budget to the House of Assembly.

Sanwo-Olu submitted the ‘Budget Of Consolidation’ totalling N1,388,285,459,990.

The Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, urged him to work on policies that will bring more dividends of democracy to the people.

Obasa passed a vote of confidence on Sanwo-Olu and hailed him for achievements in office so far.

The lawmaker said the support the governor enjoys from the Assembly reflects in the successes of his administration.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari administration to “rejig the economy of Nigeria to reduce unemployment, insecurity and poverty”.

On the Panel of Inquiry on Police SARS brutality and other matters, Obasa advised Lagosians to “remain patient and not stoke controversies” ahead of the White Paper submission.

On October 5, the legislature approved the sum of N1.25trillion after amending the 2021 budget.

The House had on December 29, 2020, passed the 2021 Appropriation Bill of N1.164trillion.
