The statewide immunization of girls between ages 9 and 14, against probable future cervical cancer, planned for November 1 by Lagos State government at health centres, hospitals, schools, worship centres, and designated posts in communities, returned an underwhelming acceptance by parents. The glaring evidence of the mass rejection of what is scientifically dubbed Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine, is the absence of the usual accompanying zest and fest by government, celebrating what they had zero contribution to and in which they played no role, beyond receiving and refrigerating, just like the COVID era.
Government must have got the feedback of cynicism and skepticism loud and clear and possibly decided not to further rile an already-angry populace with some policy, forcing parental consent, like they did, during the COVID episode.
On different school WhatsApp group platforms, parents voted “No” in droves, when school authorities, posted the notification from the state government, some with exaggerated sense of outrage at the mere suggestion of the vaccine, providing some sort of comic relief in a narrative that should get government thinking, provided they have the capacity and scruples, to.
Nigerians, irrespective of race, religion, gender or age, will hardly pass on freebies, even in things as trivial as a disposable pack of rice, including those who can afford the “free lunch”, without their wallets flinching. And here, we are talking about a potential lifesaver and the No, was resounding, in Lagos, the most cosmopolitan and populous state. The skepticism seems to be nationwide. A well and widely-disseminated anti-HPV vaccine messaging, saw to that. The potency of the anti-vaxx campaign, was too devastating for government’s sensitization efforts. If there was a major health campaign in the country that failed miserably, it was Papilloma.
Even if, for the sake of argument, the no-vaccine campaign was disinformation and sabotage, that Nigerian parents, including the well-educated and informed, widely bought into it, shows that the conviction not to trust health and medical messaging from HPV promoters, had long nestled in their minds before the latest adventure.
The dismal outing for the vaccine points to Nigerians appearing to have concluded on who not to trust with their health, particularly reproductive and Microsoft’s man; Bill Gates sits atop the trust-deficient list.
Yes, GAVI, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, the self-appointed vaccinator of the world, based in Switzerland, is the main institution behind the Papilloma (sounds like Nwankwo Kanu’s alias, Papillo) vaccine, but the group flaunts its association with Gates with relish, unabashedly hoisting the billionaire as a major backer. Don’t they say the payer of the piper, dictates the tune.
And they have long association and partnering, including the COVID era, when all manner of vaccines, were forced and dumped on Nigeria, including the expiring doses. Trust Nigerians, millions of doses officially listed as received, by human beings, were actually flushed down toilets. while relatives in the health sector, kept churning out vaccine cards, to family members under compulsion, to present them.
The next time government wants to force stuff down the throat of Nigerians, it should double-check with their mood and desire, for it, especially when some foreigners are shipping in their creations, in the name of “common good”. Official blackmail has antidote. Those entrusted to enforce, will see to its defeat. Aren’t we talking about common humanity here?
Many, around Africa, began souring on Gates’ philanthropy as scrutiny increased over his 2010 statement on Ted Talk show, where he said, “The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s headed up to about 9 billion. Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we lower that by perhaps 10 or 15%,”. He was discussing carbon emissions and thought population reduction, might help.
Yes, there was no where he directly said the global population should shed 3 billion people, but his scary mathematical calculation for the future of reproduction, confirms the suspicion that reproductive health is targeted for control.
I’m also for global population slowing down, especially in Africa and particularly in Nigeria, currently sixth most populous but it has to be by choice and persuasion, not crookedness hidden in plain sight. In Gates’ world, girls become sexually active at 15, so they must be “prepared” for the “new phase” a year before. What about girls toeing the path of chastity, preserving their virginity to honour God. It is as if GAVI and Gates are targetting virgins for a life of pleasure without productivity. This suspicion is well calibrated in a grounded advisory, obviously put together by a group of medical experts, warning parents.
I reproduce it here;
PROMOTION OF HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS (HPV) VACCINE – THE NEED FOR INFORMED CHOICE.
The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with GAVI, Unicef, WHO etc, are telling the parents, Churches, Schools, etc to bring out our girls, aged 9-14years en mass to be vaccinated against HPV.
In UK and USA, all parents are required to sign a consent form before the vaccine is given to their children.
We express serious concern and reservations against this vaccine since the HPV that it is supposed to prevent is a sexually transmitted infection. This means that children who are not sexually active are not at risk of contracting the infection.
Therefore the most cost effective and appropriate strategy is to use social and behavioural approach as in similar infections to teach young girls to respect their femininity; their bodies and those of other children, and embrace chastity as a way of life. Thereby preserving and promoting sex within marriage and family life.
Reports abound on the adverse effects of the vaccine, ranging from death to cancer, neurological disorder including paralysis, ovarian failure; leading to infertility etc.
Right now, there are many class action suits in the USA, UK, Columbia etc against the manufacturers of HPV vaccine, demanding for its withdrawal from circulation and asking for compensation for injuries, deaths, infertility etc suffered by the victims.
Ideally, health care providers should give patients and clients adequate and proper information they need to make informed choice about a given intervention rather than coerce or force them. This choice can be a consent or a decline. In this case of HPV vaccine, the public has not been adequately and properly informed about the good or adverse reactions from the vaccine.
HPV vaccine is to prevent HPV infection which is sexually transmitted as stated above and not against cancer of the cervix as people are presently being told. So there is misinformation in this.
Besides, Gadasil, the vaccine currently being promoted in Nigeria, is not effective against the strains of HPV found in Nigerian and African women.
Vaccines are usually evaluated on 4 points:
1) Is it necessary?
2) Is it safe?
3) Is it effective?
4) Is it cost effective.
Since HPV is sexually transmitted, only sexually active will be infected. Out of those infected, the natural body immune system can destroy 99% of cases. The infection may persist in only 1% of the people. This is the percentage that may develop cancer of the cervix in 10-15years if undetected. But with simple pap smear done every 1-3 years, every sexually active woman can prevent cancer of the cervix.
Shall we because of 1%of women, expose our little girls to such deadly vaccine? Who wants our children dead maimed or sterilized?
The paragraphs above have answered the 4 questions. The vaccine is not necessary. It is not safe. We have seen that it causes many complications. Gadasil is not effective against the strains of HPV found in Nigeria. It is not cost effective. There is a better option. Chastity education for our children, male and female and yearly to 3 yearly pap smear test for sexually active women.
If we have to use a vaccine for HPV, we should as well, do the same for other sexually transmitted infections such as syphilis, gonorrhoea, chancroid, chlamydia, HIV etc. Using a deadly vaccine for treating a condition that has simple remedy, is like killing a fly with a sledge hammer. We say “NO” to making a sacrifice of our innocent children.
Parents you can now make informed choice. Insist that no child should be vaccinated without presenting a consent form duly signed by parents.
For more information, watch the above YouTube video showing complications witnessed in different countries.

Nigeria must be wary of GAVI and Gates.
