The last Quarterly General Meeting of the Eastern Bar Forum for the year 2019 will hold in Port Harcourt, Rivers State from 15th to16th of November, 2019.
The meeting which is one of the largest gathering of lawyers in Nigeria besides the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference is set to be one of the best of the Eastern Bar Forum Meetings held in recent times. Already arrangements are in top gear towards the hosting of the said event which will is billed to hold at the prestigious NBA Port Harcourt Branch House, No 1 Bank Road, Opp Port Harcourt City Local Government Council Secretariat.
The NBA House is presently undergoing top class renovations and amenities necessary towards the hosting of a successful meeting are being put in place.
The meeting will play host to lawyers from the forty five Branches of the NBA in the Southsouth and Southeast zones of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Lawyers from other zones of the country are also expected at the meeting as observers.
It must be noted that this will be the first meeting to be hosted by the new Governing Council of the forum chaired by S. Long Williams Esq. of NBA Port Harcourt Branch. The new Governing Council members representing all the states that comprises the Old Eastern Region of Nigeria were elected on Saturday, 27th July, 2019 at Onitsha, Anambra State.
Activities for the meeting will commence on friday, 15th November 2019 with a Welcome Cocktail Party at NBA PH Branch House by 7pm while red Carpet will commence by 6pm. The Welcome Cocktail Party will be hosted by the Honourable Chief Judge of Rivers State Hon. Justice Adama Iyayi Lamikaran.
The General Meeting which will hold on Saturday, 16th November, 2019 by 10am will play host to the The Executive Governor of Rivers State His Excellency
Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, MFR, GSSRS who has been invited as the Grand Guest of Honour and he is billed to declare the meeting open. Also invited is the Chief Judge of Rivers State who is the Special Guest of Honour.
Other events lined up for the said meeting will be rolled out as events unfold.
Already goodwill messages from well meaning friends and colleagues of the Eastern Bar have started coming in wishing the EBF and the entire Rivers State a successful meeting.
