In Nigeria, it is an offence to advertise drugs such as Ibuprofen, Antibiotics, blood pressure drugs and other “Prescription-Only” drugs through the Television, Radio, Billboards, SMS or social media.
Such drugs may only be advertised through medical journals, pamphlets or scientific literature.
PENALTY
Fine of ₦800,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both.
