A member of the House of Representatives, Hon Chinedu Ogah has tasked the newly appointed Controller General of the Nigeria Correctional service, NCS, to prioritise the welfare of inmates and maintain high standard of professionalism across all aspects of service.

Ogah represents Ezza South/ Ikwo federal constituency of Ebonyi state and is also the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as the new Controller-General of the Service.
He maintained that President Tinubu since his assumption of office has continued to be steadfast in ensuring that all his appointments conform with federal character principles.

In a statement he issued on Friday, Ogah also commended the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his dedication, commitment, and outstanding work in the ministry.

“I therefore encourage the newly appointed Controller-General to foster strong relationships between staff and inmates.

“I Ogah urges the new CG to draw upon his expertise and knowledge to ensure best practices are upheld within the Nigerian Correctional Service,” he stated.
