President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made his way back to Abuja after attending the inauguration of Ghana’s newly re-elected president, John Dramani Mahama, in Accra, Ghana.

Tinubu’s trip to Ghana took place on Tuesday, at the invitation of Mahama, who had visited the Nigerian leader in December. The Nigerian President was invited as a special guest of honor to witness Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony.
Bayo Onanuga, the spokesperson for the Presidency, confirmed that Tinubu’s presence at the event was a personal invitation from Mahama. On January 8, a video shared by Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, revealed the President’s return to Abuja.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returns to Abuja from Accra after President Mahama’s swearing-in and inauguration ceremony,” the post read.

This trip highlights the continued diplomatic ties between the two countries, as both leaders work on strengthening bilateral relations.
