On Thursday , August 18, 2022, Chief J-K Gadzama SAN, MFR, OFR, the President of Vox Populi Foundation, was privileged to attend the commendation service in honour of the late Mr Olatunji Ayanlaja SAN at the St Agnes Catholic Church, Maryland, Lagos.

According to Chief Gadzama, Late Mr Olatunji Ayanlaja SAN, was a legal luminary whose demise is a loss that is not limited to his immediate family but also a monumental loss to the legal profession, especially at such a dire time as the present, when his counsel and guidance would have been of inestimable value.

The renowned lawyer and academist, Mr Olatunji Ayalanja SAN who hails from Ijebu Ode in Ogun State, is reported to have died on the 26th of July, 2022 at the age of 77. Mr Ayanlaja who was until his death the Founding Partner of Ayanlaja, Adesanya & Co, was a member of the Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association.\

Mr Ayanlaja received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1972. He was thereafter elevated to the Inner Bar in 1995. In 2013, amongst many other accolades, the Ikeja Bar Review was launched in his honour for his excellent trails in the profession.

Chief Gadzama noted that the legal profession will take solace in the fact that Mr Ayanlaja lived a fulfilled life, worthy of emulation, as an epitome of integrity, diligence and every other quality expected of a seasoned legal practitioner.

“Indeed, the Learned Silk was revered by all and sundry as he stood out impeccably in the legal profession, without doubt, his soul will be immortalized by his indelible legacies which posterity will forever remember.I pray that his soul rests in perfect peace.” Chief Gadzama prayed.
