In a dramatic session at the Harare Civil Court in Zimbabwe, Rudo Takalumusi accused her husband, Ernest Musawa, of using her clothes as toilet tissue
The allegations emerged as Rudo sought a protection order against Ernest.
She testified that Ernest regularly uses her clothes to clean himself after using the bathroom and even urinates on them. Rudo further claimed that he threatened to kill her, stating, “He uses my clothes to wipe off his mess after using the bathroom, urinates on them, and has threatened to kill me, implying that his imprisonment would be a consequence.”
Ernest refuted these claims, suggesting instead that Rudo might be responsible for the mess. “I have never used my wife’s clothes in such a manner. I believe she is the one who places her clothes in the bucket where she urinates at night. I once saw her clothes in that bucket,” he argued in court.
Magistrate Meenal Narotam granted Rudo’s request for a protection order and encouraged the couple to address their issues and seek peaceful resolution.
