Awoman, Fadi Bello, has stated that the Lagos State Police Command failed to prosecute the mistress of her ex-husband, Mariam Girei, who was accused of stealing her gold jewelries worth N3.7million, iPads, international passport and other expensive valuables.
Recounting the incident to SaharaReporters, Fadi said all her properties were taken by Mariam after she parted ways with her husband, Halilu Girei in 2017, adding that her daughter was also placed in her custody.
She said the woman was arrested by the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Lagos State but she was released days after without prosecution.
Fadi said, “When Halilu Girei divorced Ronke; that was when we got married. So after I dumped him; that was when he brought Mariam from the club to come and babysit Ronke’s daughter and my child.
“It was while she was babysitting the children that she stole all the gold jewelries, iPads, international passport and my other valuables. Haliru also started sleeping with her and making babies with her.
“She was arrested by SARS operatives, shortly before their ban, and since then, nothing has been done. Her house was searched and we realised she already sold most of the stolen items.”
