Yesterday, a Twitter user identified as Kehinde Adesoga Adekusibe made inflammatory remarks, calling on the Yoruba community in the South-West geopolitical zone to commit acts of violence against the Igbos residing there and forcefully remove them from their land.

Adekusibe claimed to dislike the Igbo people without providing any valid reasons for his prejudice. He alleged that the Igbo community harbors animosity towards the Yoruba people and accused them of being a violent group. The motivation behind Adekusibe’s hate speech remains unknown. His tweet came to the attention of CSP Olumuyiwa Prince Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at the NPF Headquarters in Abuja, who was promptly notified of the incident.

Adekusibe’s exact words were, “Let’s eradicate all the Igbos. Let’s expel them from Yoruba territory. I hold an intense hatred for these individuals. They are violent and utterly despicable. They harbor animosity towards us, and we should reciprocate.”

Subsequently, a concerned Twitter user, in an attempt to draw attention to the matter, stated, “Let me provide the tweet and further details. If the Nigeria Department of State Services (@chude__) can take action against offenders, why can’t they do the same in this case? Please like and retweet until the relevant security agencies address the issue.”

In response, CSP Olumuyiwa Prince Adejobi acknowledged the report and informed that he had forwarded the complaint to the Lagos State Police Command, urging them to take appropriate measures.

He stated, “I have forwarded this matter to the Lagos State Command for necessary action. Thank you.”
