The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with separate cases of alleged rape, involving minors, in different parts of the state.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar.

According to the statement, on January 5, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Kalifa Ibrahim, a 19-year-old male from the Gwazange area of Argungu, allegedly lured 8-year-old Rukayya Umar, also from the same address, to a secluded location and engaged in sexual intercourse with her.

“On receipt of the complaint, a team of policemen responded promptly and arrested the suspect,” the statement added.

In another incident, also on January 5, 2025, 32-year-old Abdullahi Abubakar allegedly lured 4-year-old Fatima Abubakar to an uncompleted building and had sexual intercourse with her. An investigation into the case is ongoing.

Additionally, on January 6, 2025, Okada rider Fahad Kabiru, 25, allegedly impregnated 16-year-old Hafsat Sa’idu.

The suspect, according to the statement has been arrested and confessed to the crime.

The Commissioner of Police CP Bello Sani also directed a thorough investigation into the cases and called on residents to always watch over their children and be conscious of the people to entrust with their children.
