The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) has declared that perpetrators of rape in the country should not go unpunished.
The association advocated capital punishment for perpetrators of rape against both minor and adult females.
The association made these disclosures via a communique issued at the end of its Oyo State brach monthly meeting in Ibadan.
MMPN in the communique signed by its Oyo state Chairman, Alhaji Ridwan Fasasi, decried the rising cases of rape in the country.
The association explained that such capital punishment would serve as a deterrent to others.
It called for more vigilance on the part of parents and guardians as well as the general public considering the fact that perpetrators of rape are mostly family members and relatives.
The association while speaking further lauded the approval of headscarves as part of dress codes for female police officers.
It added that the approval would bring about religious diversity in the workplace for optimum output and professionalism.
