The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has released a shortlist of 72 lawyers qualified for the award of the highly coveted Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) rank for 2021.
According to the official statement made available to TheNigerialawyer, 72 lawyers are qualified for the award of the highly coveted Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) rank for the year 2021.
Hajo Bello, the Acting Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, who doubles as the secretary of the LPPC, issued the notice on Wednesday.
This was disclosed in a press release dated 21st Oct. The legal Practitioners Privileges at its 149th Plenary Session held today, have elevated 62 Legal Practitioners to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
The rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) is awarded as a mark of excellence to members of the legal profession who have distinguished themselves as advocates and academics.
ThNigerialawyer gathered that the swearing-in by the Chief Justice of Nigerian will be on the 8th of December, at the Supreme Court.
The legal Practitioners Privileges Committee also notifies prospective applicants that the application for the 2022 exercise would not be opened/commence until a date to be announced in January 2022.
The Committee further notifies the general public that it has set up a subcommittee to review the 2018 Guidelines for the award of the rank effective from the 2023 application year.
