1. President Alpha Conde of Guinea is currently in detention in what is believed to be a coup by soldiers. Guinea’s special forces claimed Sunday to have captured President Alpha and “dissolved” the country’s institutions.
2. A 45-year-old woman, Mrs Oladapo Bukola, and two of her daughters were abducted at Pegi community in Kuje area council of Abuja on Sunday. The spokesman of the FCT police command ASP Daniel Y Ndiparya, confirmed the incident, saying efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims.
3. Following the surge in security crisis in Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on Sunday directed the closure of 30 boarding schools across the State. Fintiri’s directive was contained in a statement by the state’s Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Wilbina Jackson.
4. Gunmen have kidnapped a 60-year-old traditional title holder, Alh. Kabiru Ahmad and set a police vehicle ablaze in Taura local Government area of Jigawa State. Police spokesman in the state, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident to newsmen on Sunday.
5. President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the National Agricultural Land Development Authority to set up integrated farm estates in all 108 senatorial districts nationwide. Consequently, the Executive Secretary of NALDA, Paul Ikonne, called on state governors to key into the President’s desire to avail lands for the establishment of farm estates. He revealed this to State House correspondents on Sunday after meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
6. The Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) has called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the nation’s health sector due to a number of issues. The MDCAN’s newly elected National President, Dr Victor Makanjuola, made the call at a news conference organised by the National Officers’ Committee (NOC) of the association on Sunday in Ibadan.

8. The Death toll in the Cholera outbreak in Katsina State has risen from 101 to 150. The Executive Secretary, Katsina State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Shamsudeen Yahaya confirmed this over the weekend.
9. Governor Seyi Makinde, on Sunday, says he is praying to God and awaiting His direction on his 2023 re-election bid. Makinde, who disclosed this during the 2021 Hijrah luncheon held at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, declared that 2023 belonged to God and that His will prevail in his political adventure.
10. A Cameroon separatist group, the Interim Government of Southern Cameroon Ambazonia has said the group has no plans to attack Nigerian citizens. It accused the Cameroonian government, through her military, of plots to put the group on collision course with Nigerian government by disguising as ‘Ambazonians’ to attack Nigerian security personnel.
