The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata, has set up a task force to secure the release of a lawyer, Paulette Bisola Ajayi.
This is contained in a statement signed by the NBA National Publicity Secretary, Dr Rapulu Nduka, made available to LegaldeskNG.
Ajayi was abducted on 4th October 2020 by some men dressed in combat fatigues and dark T-shirts, in front of her home in Rumukrushi Port Harcourt.
The TASK force set up by Akpata is to be headed by the 1st Vice-President, John Aikpokpo-Martins

NBA SETS UP TASK FORCE FOR THE RELEASE OF PAULETTE BISOLA AJAYI
Dear Colleagues,
Last night – 4th October 2020, the sad news of the abduction of a Legal Practitioner – Paulette Bisola Ajayi, by at least 4 men dressed in combat fatigues and dark T-shirts, in front of her home in Rumukrushi Port Harcourt, filtered in.
The news of the abduction was confirmed by the mother of the abducted Legal Practitioner when the NBA President – Olumide Akpata got in contact with the family.
Consequently, the NBA President has immediately set up a Task Force that will take every step in ensuring the release of our abducted Colleague.
The members of the Task Force are:

The NBA is in contact with the Rivers State Governor, Attorney-General of Rivers and Rivers State Police Headquarters, on this issue.
The NBA reiterates that the welfare of Legal Practitioners remains paramount at all times and assures that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring the release of our dear Learned Colleague.
The NBA further pleads that any useful information that will assist the Task Force should be made available to either the NBA Welfare Secretary or the Vice Chairman of the Port Harcourt Branch of the NBA.
