The Nigerian Bar Association has extended her heartfelt condolence to the members of the NBA Kano branch over the demise of late Aliyu Umar, SAN.
In a statement released on behalf of the NBA President and the entire executive committee signed by the Publicity Secretary, Olakunle Edun, he eulogized the late Attorney General of Kano for his immense contributions in the legal profession.

It is with deep shock and regret that the sad news of the demise of Alhaji Aliyu Umar, SAN reached the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Paul Usoro,SAN.
Alhaji Aliyu Umar, SAN passed away in the early hours of Friday, the 17th of April, 2020. He was one of the finest silks Nigeria has produced.
Alhaji Aliyu Umar,SAN was called to the Nigerian bar in 1978 and was a reputable criminal trial lawyer. He was also a former Attorney General of Kano State.
The NBA appreciates the immense contributions of Alhaji Aliyu Umar,SAN to the Nigerian legal industry and practice, and particularly the NBA.
On behalf of the National Officers and members of the Nigerian Bar Association, the NBA President prays for a safe and peaceful transition of our dear colleague and for the Almighty God to give his family, friends and members of the bar in Kano State the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
