The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 2020 Branch Elections Appeals Panel (Western Zone) considered the joint appeal of Mandy Asagba, Esq. & 6 Others on the constitution of the Branch Election Committee and reached the decision that the Ikeja Branch Election Committee constituted on 14th May, 2020 was in contravention of Article 10 (3) and 10 (10) (a) of the Uniform Bye-Laws for Branches and recommended that the said Election Committee be disbanded/dissolved.

Accordingly, NBA President, Paul Usoro (SAN) has constituted a Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the Branch.

DISSOLUTION OF ELECTION COMMITTEE AND CONSTITUTION OF CARETAKER COMMITTEE FOR IKEJA BRANCH

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 2020 Branch Elections Appeals Panel (Western Zone) considered the joint appeal of Mandy Asagba, Esq. & 6 Others on the constitution of the Branch Election Committee and reached the decision that the Ikeja Branch Election Committee constituted on 14th May, 2020 was in contravention of Article 10 (3) and 10 (10) (a) of the Uniform Bye-Laws for Branches and recommended that the said Election Committee be disbanded/dissolved.

The said recommendation is accepted and following the expiration of the tenure of the Executive Committee of Ikeja Branch of the NBA on 30th June, 2020 the President, Paul Usoro, SAN has constituted a Caretaker Committee to handle the affairs of the Ikeja Branch in line with Article 11 of the Uniform Bye-Laws for Branches for a period of three (3) months.

The Caretaker Committee may co-opt such members as it deems necessary and is composed of the following:

Olabisi Ade-ademuwagun, Esq.
Adebamigbe Omole, Esq.
Monday Ubani, Esq.

Members of the Branch are advised to cooperate with the Caretaker Committee as it pilots in the interim, the affairs of the Branch.
