The Nigerian Bar Association on Tuesday demanded that the government give update on efforts to secure the release of a Justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice Chioma Iheme-Nwosu, from kidnappers’ den.
In a statement issued on behalf of the association by its president, Paul Usoro (SAN), the NBA noted that no word had been heard from relevant government or any of its security agencies since the kidnap happened on October 30, 2019.
“It is of great concern to the Nigerian Bar Association and very disheartening that almost a fortnight after the reprehensible kidnap of Justice Chioma Iheme-Nwosu of the Court of Appeal on 30 October 2019, not a word has been heard from relevant government and/or any of their security and law enforcement agencies on efforts to secure her safe release and return.
“More importantly, we demand the immediate release and safe return of Iheme-Nwosu JCA to her family, the justice sector and all of us.”
