The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has continued to give updates of the ongoing elections of the Association.

A total of 29, 635 lawyers are voting nationwide in the electronic poll and as at the time of filing this report by 3:17 pm, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law, Olumide Akpata, is in early lead with 8477 votes (53. 8%) ahead of the two other contenders in the NBA presidential race – Babatunde Ajibade (SAN) who has 3748 (23.9%) of votes and Dele Adesina (SAN) 3497 (22.3%) of votes.

For the position of 1st Vice-President, John Aikpokpo-Martins is leading with 5258 (35.1%) votes while Siyonbola Adetutu trails with 3451 (23.1%) votes and Bayo Akinlade with 1883 (12.6%) votes

Joyce Oduah is leading for the position of General Secretary with 7611 (49.2%) votes. Alex Muoka has 5228 (33.8%) votes while Okey Leo has 2227 (14.5l4%) votes

15737 (representing 53%) voters out of 29636 have submitted their votes. 28097 emails and 17467 sms have been sent or queued

The election kick-started 11pm on Wednesday and is slated to end by 11.00pm today 30th July, 2020
