The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has called on Nigerians to disregard an advertorial being circulated on social media asking people to submit application for the recruitment of 774,000 employment by the federal government.
He described the recruitment website/portal as fake just as he urged Nigerians not to embark on such exercise.
He disclosed this in a statement issued on friday in Abuja.
He said the ministry is working out modalities and how the scope of the program would be expanded and executed with other relevant ministries and stakeholders across the country.
Keyamo stated that his ministry is in consultation with the Minister of Finance and National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in which the Special Public Works Programme of the Federal Government is domiciled on the modalities to be used.
He added that the guidelines for such recruitment exercise and those to be involved have not been released by the agency.
The statement read: “My attention has been drawn to a certain advertorial circulating on Social Media tilted ‘Application Opens For 774,000 Employment By FG: See Requirements, Salary And How To Apply’.
“As the Supervising Minister over the National Directorate of Employment in which the Special Public Works Programme of the Federal Government is domiciled, and having conferred with the Director-General, Dr Nasiru Ladan Mohammed Argungu.
“The public would be duly informed by this office when all the modalities have been graciously approved by Mr President.
“We wish to alert members of the public that the said advertorial or anything of such presently circulating is fake and should be disregarded.
He therefore assured the public of effective implementation of the program in a way that would meet its target of empowering unskilled labour in rural areas.
