A man identified as Mr. Sunday Nwakanze has allegedly lured his brother-in-law, Mr. ThankGod Adiegbuo, into the den of kidnappers.
Adiegbuo in a now viral video after what he described as a miraculous escape, said Nwankanze, a brother to his wife and a former school mate, met him recently and they exchanged numbers, and since then he had been calling him, requesting for a visit.“So, today I decided to visit him. He told me there’s a place he is building a house, close to Abagana Girls Secondary School.
“He gave me direction to the place, and I took off to the place with my car.
“When I got close to a particular place close to the area, it turned out to be a shrine. I was not afraid because I’m not new to visiting native doctors too, but while we were there some people appeared with guns and ordered me to lie down.
“They dispossessed me of all my belongings, collected my ATM card and withdrew the last N150,000 which I had, they tied me up and blindfolded me.
“My in-law kept assuring me I will be fine, that I won’t be hurt.
“When they left the room, I heard them saying the best thing was to kill me since I could expose them. They were still there deliberating on what to do with me when suddenly, I tried to loosen the clothes with which I was tied and it all gave way.”
Adiegbuo said he subsequently escaped by climbing a staircase in the uncompleted building to the next floor, from where he jumped into another compound.
He said his car was still with the kidnappers, and begged to be led out of the area to a nearby police station, so he could report the matter.
When DAILY POST contacted the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, for reaction, he said the Command had not received any report on the incident.
