A man, simply identified as Ukazu, has been arrested by a community security outfit, Otampa Security Services in Akoba Otamkpa, Isiukwuato LGA of Abia State for allegedly stealing a mobile phone belonging to a woman.
According to a statement released by Otampa Security Services and shared with the press, the suspect was publicly paraded through the community.
The release detailed that Ukazu, who was unable to meet the N100,000 restitution demanded by the community, has offered a sheep, a goat, a mobile phone, and two plastic chairs as part of his penalty.
The statement further noted that Ukazu has been granted a one-month period to fulfill the financial obligation, failing which the pledged items will be finally forfeited.
Meanwhile, the stolen phone has been recovered and returned to its rightful owner, demonstrating the swift and effective response by the community security outfit.
