Mr. Garba Shehu has refuted the allegations of Sahara Reporters that he was the one who authored the news alleging that the suspended EFCC Acting Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu gave Vice President Yemi Osinbajo & Human Rights Activist, Mr. Femi Falana, the sum of 28 million naira.

This is contained in his replied tweet to Sahara Reporters which TheNigeriaLawyer sighted.

It would be recalled that Sahara Reporters had earlier twitted that Garba was the ghostwriter who gave out the supposed publication to News Agency of Nigeria.

“FLASH: President Buhari’s spokesperson, @GarShehu identified as the ghostwriter of the story published by News Agency of Nigeria @nannews_ng alleging suspended @officialEFCC Chair, Ibrahim Magu gave VP @ProfOsinbajo N4billion and Popular Lagos lawyer, Femi Falana N28million”

Meanwhile, in his reaction to the tweet, Garba disclosed that the allegation is laced with falsehood.

“To @SaharaReporters: I don’t write stories for the News Agency of Nigeria. NAN did not at any time write any such rubbish against the respected Vice President.

“It was Jackson Ude, who the VP reported to the police who published the false allegation.” He said.

Besides, he added that his duty as a presidential spokesman is in defence of the Buhari led administration.

“But as a Presidential spokesman, I stood in defence of the administration against the attempt by a defeated presidential candidate and digital publisher to cause the overthrow of the government elected by Nigerians. For doing my job, I know that there is a price to pay.” He concluded
