The Lagos State executive council has approved the publication of list of application for Governor’s consent in a National Newspaper and the Land’s Bureau website twice a month.
This is contained in a Memo signed by Mrs. Olufumilayo Awe Director Land Services sighted by legaldeskng(LDN)
“It is hereby notified for general information and immediate compliance that the State Executive Council has approved the publication of list of application for Governor’s Consent in a National Newspaper and the Land’s Bureau website twice a month.” the memo reads
The memo further provides that the publication will replace the former requirement of sighting original root of title and also aimed at notifying the public that Governor’s consent has been granted.
“This publication replaced the former requirement of sighting original root of title at the Land Registry before registering Governor’s Consent applications. The essence of the publication is to duly inform the General Public that Governor’s Consent has been granted and will be registered fourteen days after the publication.
“It will also enable people concerned to make objection when necessary” it reads
Publication Fee is pegged at N20, 000 and same is to be paid to the Lagos State Revenue Collection Designated Banks
The memo reads in part:
“Consequently, a Publication Fee of N20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand naira] shall henceforth be payable along with other fees before processing of Governor’s Consent application.
“The Publication Fee should be paid like other relevant fees to any of the Lagos State Revenue Collection Designated Banks using the following code and the receipt forwarded to the Director Land Services accordingly.

According to the memo, officers are enjoined to ensure the approval take immediate effect and apply same to all files under processing.
