Born in Akwa-Ibom State and Married in Anambra State, Mrs Oduah graduated from the Faculty of Law of Lagos State University in 1990 and was called to the Nigeria Bar, as a barrister and solicitors of the supreme court of Nigeria in December 1991. She completed her Masters’ Degree Program in the University of Lagos in 1997.

Mrs Joyce Oduah has served NBA in many capacities including, as Rapporteur, Assistant Secretary of Lagos Branch, Publicity Secretary of Lagos Branch, Social Secretary of Lagos Branch, National Treasurer and many other selfless services too numerous to mention. She is currently serving the Nigerian Lawyers as the General Secretary of the NBA.

Mrs Oduah is also a member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and was in the Publicity Committee of FIDA, Lagos. She is presently the Chairperson, FIDA Lagos Property Development Committee and Member, FIDA Lagos Litigation Committee. She has been a member Eastern Bar Forum since 2012. She is also a member of African Women Lawyers Association.

Mrs Joyce has also been a recipient of a number of awards for her commitments and service to the NBA, amongst which are; Award of Recognition by NBA, Section on Public Interest and Development Law (SPIDEL) 2019; Service Award by NBA, Lagos Branch 2019, Award of Excellence by NBA, Owo Branch, 2019. Mrs Joyce was also appointed as a Patroness of NBA, Owo Branch in 2019.

In 2008, she established and is President of Fountain of Life for the Needy Foundation which is a non-governmental, non-profit and charity organization aimed at providing for the needs of indigent women, children and youths in the society.
