Musa Nuhu Yankaba, the former spokesperson of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano, has stated that the party with the fruit logo is the original NNPP. He made this declaration during an interview with DCL Hausa, asserting that both Kwankwaso and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf no longer belong to the party.
Recently, Kwankwaso led some key members of the party in changing its logo to a book symbol. Yankaba emphasized that the Kano state government was elected under the original party, urging the leaders to come together and work for the advancement of the party.

He further pointed out that a court in Abia state, on November 1, 2024, had confirmed Boniface’s faction as the legitimate leadership of the party, ruling that he was the founder and the rightful leader. The court also annulled the activities that had taken place before, including the logo change and the election of new leaders, so as it stands, Kwankwaso and Abba do not have a political party.

“We have conducted elections at various levels, and we stand with the original NNPP with the fruit logo. We call on everyone, especially those who care about Kano, to return to our party,” said Musa Nuhu Yankaba, the former spokesperson of the NNPP with the fruit logo and current Secretary-General of the original NNPP.
