The Kano State Police Command is calling on citizens to report any cases of extortion by constabulary personnel, reaffirming their commitment to combatting corruption within the force. This statement was made by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command’s spokesperson, during the parade of an expelled constable at the headquarters in Bompai, Kano.
The call for public vigilance comes in response to rising concerns over the actions of a constabulary officer, Ado Abba, who has been accused of extorting money from the public. SP Kiyawa emphasized that CP Salman Dogs Garba of the Kano State Police Command is taking decisive action to eliminate corrupt elements within the force.
The officer, Abba, was expelled following numerous complaints from the public about his misconduct. Police officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any officers involved in extortion to ensure appropriate measures are taken.
