Vice President Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the upcoming 2024 election, according to multiple sources.
The pair is set to make their first joint appearance at a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday before embarking on a tour of key battleground states throughout the week.
Governor Walz, a former educator, is currently serving his second term as Minnesota’s governor and is the chair of the Democratic Governors Association.
His political career includes a 12-year tenure in Congress, where he represented a conservative-leaning rural district that has traditionally been dominated by Republicans.
Walz’s experience and bipartisan appeal are expected to strengthen Harris’s campaign as they work to secure crucial swing states in the forthcoming election.
