The Speaker:
Olutayo Awoyele is a Nigerian Lawyer, who practices as an Associate in the law firm of Ikeyi, Shittu & Co. His areas of practice include commercial litigation, review of commercial agreements, and rendering advisory services. Olutayo is a writer on legal issues. And some of his articles published on DNL Legal & Style law blog include (a) Protection of women from workplace sexual harassment in Nigeria; Whither the law, (b) Public Policy & Public Interest: the meeting point between an unruly horse and the law, (c) The position of oil companies vis-à-vis pioneer status, (d) Admissibility of Public Documents in Nigeria – State of law, and (e) Advocacy for the poor.
Also, Olutayo participates as a discussant on televised programs on public affairs. Some of these include his interview on the programs titled “Democracy & Rule of Law” and “Editors’ forum” on Galaxy TV on 28 July 2019 and 2 November 2020 respectively. He also participated in a breakfast program on Silverbird TV titled – “Safety of unarmed uniform men” on 3rd December 2019.
As an innovator passionate about problem-solving in the financial technology industry, Olutayo in collaboration with his colleagues founded the Nigerian Fintech Lawyer, in order to bridge the knowledge gap amongst Nigerian lawyers on the workings of financial technology law.
