In fulfilment of its mandate to foster an environment that encourages innovation, respects intellectual property rights, and empowers creators, the Intellectual Property Lawyers Association of Nigeria calls for Volunteers seeking to join its novel Hybrid Intellectual Property Clinic.

The call was contained in a statement made by the IPLAN Clinic Coordinator, Damilola Alabi, on 31st January, 2024, in Abuja, FCT. Talking about the IP Clinic, Alabi said “The IP Clinic was designed to provide valuable legal assistance and guidance to individuals and organizations navigating the complexities of intellectual property law. Over the years the Clinic has made a tangible impact in the creative industry. This year, we are expanding beyond the shores of Nigeria, using the power of technology to connect with African creators and deliver tangible value.”

Physical and virtual participation in the IP Clinic is pro bono and open to Lawyers and law students who either practice or are interested in building a career in Intellectual Property Law, whether they are members of IPLAN or not. Clinicians have the opportunity to garner practical learning, mentorship, client networking and valuable experience working with Creators and Inventors from across Africa.

Eligible Volunteers must be Legal Practitioners or Law Students in a Faculty of Law or the Nigerian Law School. IP Enthusiasts who are non-lawyers may be considered for supporting roles.
