The induction ceremony, held virtually, marked a significant milestone in the development and promotion of intellectual property law expertise across Nigeria.
The IP Clinic, a flagship initiative of IPLAN, aims to provide Africa’s Creative Industry with access to IP Professionals while providing specialized training, mentorship, and networking opportunities to lawyers and law students interested in advancing their knowledge and skills in intellectual property law.
In a statement, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of IPLAN, Mr. Folarin Aluko, emphasized the importance of taking deliberate steps to building a culture of respect for intellectual property rights and innovation in Africa.
He highlighted the role of the IP Clinic as a catalyst for providing creators with the tools and resources needed to navigate the fast evolving landscape of innovation.
“We are delighted to welcome this new cohort of talented lawyers into the IPLAN IP Clinic. Further information about the Intellectual Property Lawyers Association Nigeria and its initiatives could be accessed on www.iplan.org.ng” said Mr. Aluko.
He added “The Clinic aims to provide education, pro bono and accessible legal assistance on Intellectual Property issues to Nigerian Creators and Innovators. This will unleash the potential of Nigeria’s creative industry and serve as a catalyst for economic growth.”
The IP Clinic Coordinator, Ms. Damilola Alabi expressed optimism at the turnout, charging participants to be dedicated and focused.
