Hon. Justice Nelson Ogbuanya of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria has been selected as one of the speakers at the 6th International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration Africa Conference, holding in Lagos Nigeria, from Wednesday 1st to Friday 3rd June 2022.
The Conference which has become the most significant annual gathering of the arbitration community on African matters provides first-hand updates on developments in African arbitration, offers first-rate speakers on significant issues and provides exceptional networking opportunities for arbitration practitioners and clients.
The Conference will host sessions on topical issues such as technology-led disruption of arbitration practice, new trends such as renewable energy and ESG-related disputes, telecommunications and Fintech and the valuation of damages.
Given Hon. Justice Nelson Ogbuanya’s wealth of experience and worthy contributions to the Arbitration and ADR community, he was appointed to speak at the panel session on “Guerrilla Tactics in Arbitration : Keeping Proceedings on Track”.
Other eminent speakers in the panel session are – Diana Asonaba Daapaah ( Deputy Minister of Justice, Ghana), Tafudzwa Pasipanodya ( Zimbabwean-American, member of the ICC Court of Arbitration) and John Ohaga SC ( Kenyan Legal Practitioner).
Justice Ogbuanya, who is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb.) London, was selected based on his immense experience and expertise on Arbitration proceedings.
Prior to his elevation to the bench, Hon. Justice Nelson Ogbuanya has been a foremost Arbitrator, having been appointed in several arbitral panels, including member of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Panel of Neutrals (Arbitration) for resolution of interconnectivity disputes among GSM operators in Nigeria, and Enlisted Arbitrator by the Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration, Lagos.
