A Magistrate Court in Ogun State has on Monday, 31st August, 2020 jailed a fake lawyer, Daji Ojo Elijah for impersonation.

Daji Ojo was arrested by the men of Nigeria Police for allegedly parading himself as a lawyer and was accused of extorting the sum of N467,000 as a legal fee.

He was said to have committed the offence between 24th & 26th February, 2020 at Akute/Ajuwon in Ifo Magisterial District contrary to section 109 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.

Daji Ojo Elijah was also accused of obtaining by false pretense by allegedly collecting the sum of N167, 000.00 from one Akande Samuel, N180, 000.00 from Olalekan Adekoya and N120, 000.00 from Esther Falowo Afolabi with the purpose of offering legal services to them.

However, after the conclusion of the case, the Court convicted and sentenced him to three years imprisonment and further ordered a refund of the purported legal fees he collected.
