A former Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Sir, Hon. Celestine Unini, has added his voice to calls for the 2023 presidency to be zoned to South East Geopolitical Zone.

He made this call in PDP Ward 3, Agulu, in Anaocha LGA of Anambra State, where he officially declared his defection from APGA to PDP, on Monday.

His defection follows weeks of speculations that Hon. Unini, was making moves to join forces for the emergence of a South Eastern President in the 2023 General election, though it was not clear which political platform the former APGA Chieftain was targeting to move to.

Speaking on the reason for his defection to the country’s main opposition party, Hon. Celestine cited the need to give maximum support to the former Governor of Anambra and a PDP Presidential Aspirant, HE, Mr Peter Obi, whom he believe has all the impetus to fix Nigeria, as he claimed the Country is currently in comatose.

“To contribute in fixing Nigeria, one has to be in a mainstream party and not by the sideways. PDP as a political party is one of the major players in Nigerian Politics and Africa in general.

“It is high time to balance the equation in the marginalisation of some parts of this country which is so glaring, so every hands must be on deck to achieve this aim,” he added.
